Beryl Watson

Background

Artist Beryl Watson, a resident of Mount Vernon, NY, has explored figurative painting for more than two decades, pursuing her interest in capturing mood and light in her work. She works in both oil and watercolors, and in the last few years began to work on still life, intensifying her study of color, movement, and light.

Beryl began her career at the University of Hartford Art School and earned her bachelor's degree in fine arts from the School of Visual Arts; most recently, she has continued her work at the Pelham Art Center. Her work often concentrates on "the immediate" whether her subject matter is the human form or a botanical still life, and aims to capture a moment in time. Her paintings have been exhibited at the School of Visual Arts Galleries, Exposure at Kandombe, and other venues.
